Hi, my name is Jim McGreevey and
I am an experienced baritone and lead singer. I've been singing doowop since my high
school days when I sang with "Eddie and The Emeralds" at St. Francis Prep in
Brooklyn, New York. I'm always interested in meeting other experienced doowop singers and
groups to see if our talents, personalities and goals might blend to create
"something special".
I was born in Brooklyn and moved
to Long Island in 1970, after marrying my
beautiful bride, Maureen (my biggest fan). While working at my career on
Wall St, I sang with a group called "Primetime". I then decided to retire
and move to Florida in 2002 to pursue my passion for doowop, full time.
I'm currently singing with
"Lola and The Saints". Previously, I sang with "Gene Hughes' Casinos",
"The Dukes of Harmony" and "The Boomerz". I released a CD with
"The Boomerz" in 2005, called "Street Corner Harmony". You can listen
to it from my audio clips page.
I have been called an
"intuitive baritone" and a "quality lead singer".
I've sung on the same stage with
such stars as Larry Chance And The Earls, Arlene Smith (Chantels), The Del Vikings, Norman
Fox, Shirley Alston Reeves (Shirelles), The Belmonts, Jimmy Clanton, Ron McPhatter (son of
Clyde McPhatter) and my very good friend Frank Iovino And The Five Boroughs
(please see my Photo Gallery)
I've established this website as
a way to let doowop lovers, singers and groups know about me and help me keep our music
alive. Please contact me if you are an experienced singer or just simply want to talk
doowop and feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested
in my site. I'm also an avid record collector of 50's & 60's LPs & 45s.
If you know anyone looking to part with their collection........ Please contact me here.
I live in West Central Florida
about an hour and a half from Tampa and Orlando, near Ocala and Spring Hill... I'm looking
forward to hearing from you!
In Harmony,
Jim McGreevey
